When to inspect your reeds

Inspect reed petals during intake service or when investigating starting, idle or throttle-response problems. Check for chipped edges, cracks, fraying and improper seating. Those symptoms can also have other causes, so inspect the complete intake system.

Installation

Follow Boyesen’s instructions for reed orientation, retaining hardware and tightening. Inspect the assembly’s sealing surfaces and replace disturbed or damaged gaskets as required.

Check engine sealing and confirm carburetor settings before returning the ATV to service.
