Yamaha Blaster Flywheel Key

Description

This replacement OEM Yamaha Blaster flywheel key properly positions the flywheel on the crankshaft for correct ignition timing. A damaged or sheared key can allow the flywheel to move out of position, causing incorrect timing, kickback, poor performance or a no-start condition.

Always inspect the flywheel key whenever the flywheel is removed or when troubleshooting an ignition-timing problem. Replace the key if it shows any signs of wear, distortion or damage.

Fits all Yamaha Blaster YFS200 models from 1988 through 2006.

Installation Note

The flywheel key is designed to locate the flywheel—it does not hold the flywheel in place by itself. The crankshaft taper and correctly tightened flywheel nut secure the flywheel. Make sure both tapered surfaces are clean and dry before installation, and tighten the flywheel nut to the factory torque specification.
