Description
Yamaha Blaster Lightened Flywheel
Improve throttle response and make your engine rev quicker with a KOR Yamaha Blaster lightened flywheel. Removing unnecessary rotating mass reduces the amount of energy required to accelerate the flywheel, helping the engine respond faster when the throttle is opened.
Each flywheel is professionally machined by Ken OConnor Racing for dependable performance and proper fitment. This is a practical performance upgrade for trail, motocross, dune and drag-racing Yamaha Blaster builds.
Benefits of a Lightened Blaster Flywheel
A factory flywheel stores rotational energy, which helps smooth engine operation but also slows the rate at which the engine gains RPM. A lightened flywheel reduces this rotating weight and allows the engine to accelerate more quickly.
Benefits include:
- Quicker throttle response
- Faster engine acceleration
- Reduced rotating mass
- More responsive power delivery
- Direct replacement for the original flywheel
- Professionally machined by Ken OConnor Racing
- No core exchange required
A lightened flywheel does not directly add horsepower. Instead, it allows the engine to reach its available power more quickly. The difference is especially noticeable when accelerating out of corners, shifting through the gears or rapidly opening the throttle.
Excellent for Modified Yamaha Blaster Engines
The Yamaha Blaster lightened flywheel works well with stock and modified engines. It is an excellent supporting upgrade for Blasters equipped with performance exhaust systems, aftermarket carburetors, ported cylinders, modified cylinder heads or big-bore kits.
Because the engine can change RPM more quickly, throttle response will feel sharper and more immediate. This makes the flywheel a popular upgrade for riders looking for a more responsive performance engine without making major internal changes.
Professional KOR Machining
Flywheel machining must be performed carefully. Removing material from the wrong location or taking off too much weight can weaken the flywheel or negatively affect engine operation.
Ken OConnor Racing machines each Yamaha Blaster flywheel using proven dimensions developed through decades of two-stroke engine-building experience. Material is removed in controlled areas while maintaining the strength and integrity required for reliable operation.
Yamaha Blaster Fitment
Fits:
- 1988–2006 Yamaha Blaster 200
- Yamaha YFS200
- Stock and modified Blaster engines
Always inspect the flywheel key and crankshaft taper during installation. A damaged key, dirty taper or improperly tightened flywheel nut can allow the flywheel to move and alter ignition timing.
Upgrade your Blaster with a KOR Yamaha Blaster lightened flywheel for quicker revving, sharper throttle response and professionally machined performance.
