Diagnose before replacing
A no-spark condition can have several causes. Inspect wiring, grounds, connectors, switches, stator output and the ignition coil according to the service manual before concluding that the CDI has failed.
Install the replacement with the ignition switched off and secure its wiring away from heat, sharp edges and moving parts.
