A damaged, sticking or incorrectly fitted throttle cable can make a Yamaha Blaster difficult—and potentially dangerous—to operate. This genuine Motion Pro Yamaha Blaster TORS delete throttle cable provides a dependable connection between the stock thumb throttle and several popular Blaster carburetors.

Motion Pro part number 01-0874 is designed for use with the factory Yamaha Blaster thumb throttle. It works with the stock Mikuni VM26 carburetor when the bulky factory TORS carburetor top is removed. It can also be used with a Keihin PWK 28 or Mikuni TM28 carburetor.

The black vinyl coil-wound housing protects the cable from dirt, abrasion and normal trail exposure. An inner nylon sleeve helps reduce friction for smooth throttle movement and improved cable life. Motion Pro manufactures this cable to meet or exceed OEM quality standards.

Compatible carburetors

This Yamaha Blaster throttle cable is designed for use with:

• Stock Yamaha Blaster thumb throttle
• OEM Mikuni VM26 carburetor
• Genuine Keihin PWK 28 carburetor
• Mikuni TM28 carburetor

The stock Blaster thumb throttle does not provide enough cable travel to fully open certain larger aftermarket carburetors. This cable should not be assumed to work with PWK 33, PWK 35, TM32, TM34 or other larger carburetors.

Using the cable with the stock VM26 carburetor

When installing this cable on the original Mikuni VM26 carburetor, you must remove the factory TORS carburetor top. The correct conventional carburetor cap, cable adjuster and externally adjustable idle screw are required.

For a stock-carburetor installation, you may also need:

• Motion Pro carburetor cap
• Motion Pro cable adjuster
• VM26 idle screw kit
• Drill and tap kit for the idle screw

These components are not included with this cable unless specifically selected or purchased separately.

Using the cable with a PWK 28 or TM28

This cable can connect the stock Yamaha Blaster thumb throttle to a properly configured Keihin PWK 28 or Mikuni TM28 carburetor. Always verify that the carburetor slide reaches both the fully closed and fully open positions before starting the engine.

Correct cable adjustment is critical. The throttle must operate smoothly, have the proper amount of free play and snap completely closed whenever the thumb lever is released.

Important TORS warning

Removing the Yamaha Throttle Override System disables a factory safety feature designed to shut down the engine under certain stuck-throttle conditions. After installation, the TORS will no longer stop the engine if the throttle sticks open.

Before operating the ATV:

1. Route the cable without sharp bends or contact with hot components.
2. Turn the handlebars fully in both directions.
3. Confirm that engine speed does not change when the bars are moved.
4. Verify the proper throttle free play.
5. Confirm that the carburetor slide opens completely.
6. Make certain the throttle snaps fully closed when released.

Do not operate the ATV until the throttle works smoothly in every handlebar position.
