Full product description

Idle Screw Drill and Tap Kit

This idle screw drill and tap kit provides the cutting tools needed to create a threaded mounting hole for a compatible TORS delete idle screw. It is intended for the carburetor modification used when installing a direct idle adjuster on a Yamaha Blaster.

What’s Included

  • One M6 × 0.75 tap
  • One matching tap drill

Sold as one two-tool kit. The idle adjustment screw is sold separately.

Application and Thread Size

The tap cuts a metric thread with a 6mm nominal diameter and 0.75mm pitch. Confirm that your idle screw uses this thread before modifying the carburetor.

This is a machining-tool kit, rather than a complete TORS elimination kit. Check the installation instructions for your carburetor and conversion before beginning.

Installation Preparation

The mounting hole must be positioned and drilled correctly for the idle screw to contact the throttle slide as intended. Follow the conversion instructions for hole location, drilling depth and any required surface preparation.

Disassemble and protect the carburetor as directed. Remove all machining debris before reassembly, then check that the throttle slide moves freely and returns completely.
